Building Cycle Tourism on the Coast
May 22, 2014The Gibsons Chamber of Commerce, Gibsons Visitor Information Centre, and Transportation Choices – Sunshine Coast held a Cycling Tourism workshop on Friday, May 9, 2014.
Tourism is a major economic force on the Coast, and cycling is one of the fastest growing areas of recreation amongst adults in Canada. Put those together and add our close proximity to the Lower Mainland (which is experiencing a strong upswing in cycling), and we have the opportunity to attract a major new source of tourism business.
Following is a selection of the workshop materials and notes from the event.
