Very interesting reading that the main drawback to the success of most Bike Shares is people not wanting to use a helmet used previously by someone else. I remember seeing people using the BIXI bikes in Montreal and people were definitely not wearing helmets. At Mt. Washington helmets are mandatory for kids and if they don't have their own, they are provided one. Mind you they are encouraged to bring their own touque then wear the helmet on top.
